Dermot Kennedy & Kevin Garrett at Rogers Arena: A Night to Remember

Dermot Kennedy with Kevin Garrett at Rogers Arena: A Night to Remember

Sit back, my friend, and let me transport you to a night to remember at Rogers Arena. I had the incredible privilege of capturing Dermot Kennedy's concert and its atmosphere through my lens. The best part? Kevin Garrett, one of my all-time favorite singers, would be honoring us as the opening act. Can you imagine the excitement I felt? I was SHAKING.

Picture this: It was a Saturday night, I had my trusty camera and wore my favorite black shirt and comfy flannel. I could feel the crowd's excitement as I made my way to the gate.

Now I was ready for the show to start!

Kevin Garrett showered in blue lighting, singing and playing guitar at Rogers Arena

I was thrilled as Kevin Garrett, (who according to my non-expert opinion is) the epitome of talent, stepped on stage and gave a beautiful and heartfelt performance.

In case you didn't know, he played a big role in creating Beyonce's Grammy-nominated song, "Pray You Catch Me" from the famous album Lemonade (actually, this song earned him a Grammy nomination as well).

His catchy beats and soulful tunes set the perfect mood for the night ahead.

Psst. You can see Garrett’s rendition of Pray You Catch me right here. It’s worth it, I promise.

The main act

As the arena filled with eager fans, it was time for Dermot Kennedy to hit the stage. With a voice that touched our hearts, he sang his emotionally charged lyrics, leaving us breathless. The singer started the show with his song "Blossom," and he kept us hooked throughout with songs like "Power Over Me" and "One Life."

But what made the night truly unforgettable were the Irish flags people were waving throughout the arena. Vancouver has a huge Irish, and it felt like every Irish person living here showed up, creating an atmosphere full of passion and pride. it really reminded me of how music can bring people together.

Dermot Kennedy, the great performer he is, made sure the finale was spectacular. With all his emotions, and deep, raspy voice, he poured his soul out as he sang "Kiss Me" and "Something to Someone." The crowd went wild, and you could feel their contagious energy echoing throughout the arena

This was more than just a concert, it was an experience I'll remember for years to come.

So here is a big "cheers" to Dermot Kennedy, Kevin Garrett, and all the artists who put their hearts into every note, and show us that magical moments are always around the corner.
